since nineteen eighty-four

Back in 1984, Erlene Hammett blended the first L'Paige — a green lipstick that develops into pink-fuchsia the moment it touches your lips. That little tube started everything. Four decades on, we still make every shade her way: aloe vera, beeswax, and castor oil — creamy going on, satin staying on.

What we leave out matters just as much: no lead, no aluminum, no gluten — and never tested on animals. The green-to-pink original started it all, and it's still right here on Side A.

How does color-changing brown lipstick work?

Every tube holds one color and gives you another. The pigment reacts with the warmth and chemistry of your own lips, so the shade that develops belongs to you alone — our 1984 original goes on green and blooms into pink-fuchsia. Aloe vera, beeswax, and castor oil keep the whole performance comfortable.

Will the Brown actually look brown on my lips?

No, lady — and that's the whole trick. LBR Brown is cocoa in the tube; on your lips it develops into a raspberry, plum-pink, or berry, depending entirely on you. No two ladies wear it the same.

What's in the formula — and what's not?

In: aloe vera, beeswax, and castor oil, softening lips the same way since 1984. Not in: lead, aluminum, or gluten. And it's never tested on animals — every tube is cruelty-free.

How long does it last?

It's a long-wear satin. As the creamy top layer wears down, a lip-stain finish stays behind and keeps holding the color — one of our ladies puts it simply: “it stays on and makes me look better all day.”
